b) To arrange County Competitions
c) To endeavour to collate and bring to the attention of its members Open Competitions, which are taking, place within the County of Somerset and the South West Region.
Membership shall not be refused on the grounds of age, sex, race or disability.
All clubs in membership of the association must confirm in writing or by submission of their constitution that they do not refuse membership of their club on the grounds of age, sex, race or disability. They will continue to operate such a policy throughout their membership of the association.
4. FEES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
a) Each club shall pay a yearly subscription (which includes E.S.M.B.A. registration) which shall be determined at an Annual General Meeting.
This subscription shall be payable to the Association on or before the 30th June in each year
b) Individual members of clubs shall pay an annual Membership Fee, which includes E.S.M.B.A. registration. Any increase made by E.S.M.B.A in the individual registration fee will automatically be made to meet the date the E.S.M.B.A. increase becomes operative. The individual membership registration fee due to S.S.M.B.A. will be determined at the Annual General Meeting of the Association
d) The Association shall pay all the Affiliation and Membership Fees due to E.S.M.B.A. for the Club and Players.
ONE MEMBER FROM EACH OF THE DISTRICT COUNCIL AREAS: Sedgemoor, Mendip, South Somerset, Taunton Deane and West Somerset.
b) The Management Committee shall have the power to set up Special Committees at any time to deal with specific matters.
c) Each member of the Management Committee shall have one vote, except the Chairman who shall have a casting vote if necessary at all meetings.
d) The officers of the Association shall act as an emergency committee when necessary. All decisions made shall be reported to the next Management Committee meeting for approval and ratification.
e) The management committee shall have the power to submit notices of motions and make recommendations to the Annual General Meeting.
f) The management Committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy arising among its Officers during the year.
g) The Management Committee and any Sub-Committee shall meet as often as the business of the Association requires. The Secretary, after consultation with the Chairman, may call a management Committee meeting whenever circumstances warrant it. Fourteen days notice of any meeting shall be given by the Secretary to all those entitled to attend.
h) All Offices and Members of the Management Committee shall resign at the AGM but are all eligible for re-election.
i) The committee may co-opt up to two persons on to the committee as when required in order to carry out a particular task or role.
j) That the committee shall appoint an Independent Examiner of the accounts.
To receive the Chairman’s report.
To receive the Secretary’s report.
To receive the Treasures report
To elect the Officers and Members of the Management Committee for the next year.
To determine the membership fees of the Association
To receive, discuss and vote on any notice of motion, rule change or amendment of the Constitution.
(Notification of the AGM shall be accompanied by an Agenda, copy of the Accounts, plus any notices of motions or proposals, Rule/ Constitutional changes).
c) The Treasurer shall supply the Secretary with Independently Examined Accounts six weeks before the AGM.
d) That all proposals, motions or constitutional changes to the AGM should be sent in writing to the secretary by 31st May and have both a proposer and seconder who must be registered members of SSMBA.
e) At the AGM each member club shall be entitled to one vote and the majority vote of the meeting shall carry. The Chairman shall have the casting vote if necessary.
f) Special General Meetings may be called by the Management Committee or on the request a minimum of 25% of the number of clubs in registration for that year.
g) The notices calling for such a meeting shall specify the purpose for which it is called and no other business shall be transacted at the meeting.
b) The Management Committee shall be the sole Interpreters of these rules and their decision shall be final and binding.
b) Members of the current squad to nominate others or themselves for the post of County Captain which must be seconded by one other registered person. All nominations to be passed to the County Committee. The County Committee or their appointed subcommittee which must have county players in its number, will interview candidates. The County Committee will appoint the County Captain.
c) The term of office for a County Captain shall be 3 years from the date of appointment. The incumbent County Captain may stand for re-appointment.
d) The County Captain will appoint a Vice Captain prior to the start of the playing season and any other persons as he/she feels is required to assist in the running of the squad.
e) The selection of the County Squad shall be decided by a committee made up of the County Captain, Vice Captain, and two other members selected by the County Captain.
f) All clubs in membership should be given the opportunity to nominate a person for County Captain or for a member their club to nominate themselves seconded by one other registered person.
ESMBA disciplinary procedure, in operation at the time, will be followed in the event that such action is required.
